CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Chocolay Township Police arrested a male suspect over the weekend for stealing a car.

Sunday around 12:40 a.m. they responded to a report that a silver Grand-Am had been taken from a residence at 105 East Fairbanks Avenue.  Responding officers realized they’d passed a car matching that description on Lakewood Lane and proceeded to search the Township.

The vehicle was soon found parked behind the Silver Creek Church with a man inside.  The subject tried to run, but was apprehended and taken to the Marquette County Jail.

The suspect faces charges of unlawful driving away of an automobile and resisting and obstructing.  His name is being withheld, pending arraignment.

Michigan State Police assisted in the case.
