Manistique home invasion results in serious injuries

MANISTIQUE, MI--   A Manistique man has been arrested for a violent home invasion incident in the city early Tuesday morning.

Manistique Public Safety was called around 11 a.m. to a home on the 600 block of Manistique Avenue on a report that someone had broken in and assaulted a woman who lived there. Officers determined it had happened in the early morning hours and that there was a second victim, who lived several blocks away on Garden Avenue.

Police found the second victim at his home and discovered he had serious injuries. The man was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Jordan Ramey, 19, of Manistique has been arrested and charged with first-degree home invasion, two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, or by strangulation, and habitual offender—second offense.

Ramey is lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for August 30.
