Manistique man wanted in connection with attempted murder case found

MANISTIQUE, MI--   Michigan State Police have taken into custody a man wanted for questioning in the attempted homicide of a Schoolcraft County man.

Troopers from the Gladstone Post were sent last Wednesday evening to a home in Inwood Township on a report of a shooting. The victim was critically injured.

A warrant for assault with intent to murder was issued for Trevor Gault, 33. He and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Alyssa Arnold, left the area in a vehicle.

State Police from the Manistique Outpost located Gault and lodged him in the Schoolcraft County Jail. They were assisted by the 8th District Hometown Security Team, the 7th District Fugitive Team and the 8th District Emergency Support Team.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
