Marquette assault suspects bound over

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two people charged with assault in Marquette have been bound over to circuit court.

Kowayne Burns, 38, and Ebonie Burns, 26, were arrested in March for allegedly using a pool cue and makeshift bat to attack the victims.  Kowayne Burns is charged with felonious assault, punishable by up to four years in prison.  Ebonie Burns is charged with felonious assault and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. 

They waived their preliminary hearing Monday.  Circuit court arraignment has not yet been set.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
