Marquette man seriously injured in rollover crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Marquette Township.

Sunday around 4:30 a.m. Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post were dispatched to Forestville Road and Wright Street. They found a 21-year-old Marquette man trapped in his vehicle.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle by the Marquette Township Fire Department and taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of serious injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.

Troopers say speed, alcohol and drugs are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
