MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Only minor injuries are reported in a two-vehicle accident in Marquette Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon on US-41 near Brickyard Road.  They say Courtney Almli, 21, of Marquette pulled out of the Lowes parking lot into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Gary Vought, 50, of Three Lakes, Wisconsin.

Vought was taken to UP Health System Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Almli was cited for failure to yield.

Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
