Marquette woman jailed on weapons charge

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman has been arrested after she pointed a firearm at law enforcement officers.

Friday around 3:30 p.m. City Police went to an apartment at 200 Northland Drive to conduct a wellbeing check on Lorin Rochon, 31. Before they even got to the door Rochon allegedly opened it and pointed a gun at them.

Marquette Police requested assistance from Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and a perimeter was set up around the apartment complex. Rochon eventually turned the firearm over to a third party.

Monday Marquette Police arrested Rochon for assault with a dangerous weapon. She’s lodged at the Marquette County Jail on a $150,000 cash/surety bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
