Menominee County crash claims woman's life

CEDARVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person has been killed in a two-vehicle accident in Menominee County.

The Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened Friday around 6:15 p.m. on M-35 in Cedarville Township.

Deputies say pickup truck driven by Jeffrey Anderson, 52, of Stephenson collided with a minivan driven by Margaret Winter, 73, of Marquette County on slick and snowy roads.  Anderson’s wife Jill, 50, a passenger in the truck, was killed in the crash.

David Anderson was taken to Bay Area Medical Center, then transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay with multiple serious injuries.  He is reported to be in fair condition.  Winter also remains at St. Vincent Hospital in fair condition.

Traffic was detoured around M-35 for almost four hours.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
