MARQUETTE, MI-- Marquette General Hospital and its 457 registered nurses have finalized a new contract.
The Michigan Nurses Association says the agreement modifies a contract that was set to expire next month. Officials say it includes annual wage increases, controlled health insurance costs, improved scheduling language, and new language to address fatigue among nurses.
The MNA says the agreement will provide stability for nursing staff and the hospital for the next four years and will help MGH retain high-quality nurses.
In a statement released Thursday the hospital said, “Marquette General Hospital is pleased to confirm that we have reached a four-year agreement with our registered nurses represented by the Michigan Nurses Association. As partners with our nurses, we will continue an unwavering commitment to safe, quality patient care. As the region’s single largest employer, MGH looks forward to advancing and strengthening that resolve with a team that includes our nurses, physicians and more than 2,600 dedicated employees.”
