Missing Breen Township girl found by searchers

BREEN TOWNSHIP, MI--   Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post say a 3-year-old girl is fine after she was reported missing Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1:35 p.m. officers received a missing person complaint from a residence on Cazzola Road in Breen Township. Eleanor Gendron apparently wandered off while playing with the family’s dogs. Her father called 911 and immediately began a search.

Numerous agencies—including a Michigan State Police K-9 handler—responded to the scene. About 2.5 hours later Eleanor and the dogs were discovered by searchers walking out of the woods and onto a nearby road. She was uninjured and in good health.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
