Mobile food pantry coming to Negaunee

NEGAUNEE, MI--   Negaunee High School is hosting its 10th Feeding America West Michigan mobile food pantry next week. 

The Mobile Pantry will contain 15,000 pounds of fresh produce, dairy products and baked goods. Clients will not have to show identification or proof of income to receive food; however, they will be required to provide basic contact information and affirm that they are in need of food. People are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes.

Distribution will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at the high school. Registration begins at 4 p.m.

Food insecurity affects 1 in 8 people in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
