Motorcycle crash sends two to hospital

ALGER COUNTY, MI--   Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Alger County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call saying the crash had happened on H-58 between Grand Marais and Melstrand.  Investigation revealed a man and a woman—both from Grand Marais—were eastbound on the cycle when it failed to negotiate a curve about a mile north of the Hurricane Truck Trail.  The two were ejected from the machine.

The man was transported to UP Health System Marquette.  The woman was flown by Valley Med Flight to Marquette.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
