ESCANABA, MI-- The Michigan Public Service Commission has scheduled a community forum in
Escanaba next month to provide an opportunity for the public to offer their input on UPPCO’s long-term service plans.
All three Commissioners -- Chairman Sally Talberg, Norman Saari, and Daniel Scripps – will attend the May 17 sessions at Bay de Noc Community College, along with MPSC staff.
Chairman Talberg said it is important for the Commission to hear from U.P. residents about Upper Peninsula Power Co.’s integrated resource plan, and the event gives those served by UPPCO a chance to express their views and talk with commissioners and MPSC staff.
The forum will include presentations on UPPCO’s integrated resource plan (Case No. U-20350), which is pending before the Commission.

- Where: 952 Bays Conference Room in the Joseph Heirman University Center, Bay de Noc Community College, 2001 N. Lincoln Road, Escanaba.

Utility-developed integrated resource plans, which are required under the state’s energy laws, map out how companies will meet the future electric needs of their customers.
