MSU’s Dean Strampel is arrested during Attorney General’s Nassar investigation

LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   Disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar’s boss at Michigan State University is in jail.

William Strampel will be arraigned Tuesday in Ingham County. He’s expected to face one felony charge of

Misconduct of a Public Official, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison. He’ll also be charged with one misdemeanor count of Criminal Sexual Conduct and two counts of Willful Neglect of Duty.

The charges stem in part from multiple accusations of sexual harassment by MSU students.  Women say Strampel made comments about their looks and comments they interpreted to be propositions for sex. Strampel is also accused of grabbing two women’s buttocks.

A special prosecutor plans a news conference Tuesday to discuss developments in the case.
