Names of Marquette traffic stop suspects released

MARQUETTE, MI--   Four suspects arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Marquette Sunday have been arraigned.

Marquette Police stopped a vehicle on McClellan Avenue near Center Street around 5:05 p.m. and discovered methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin, hydrocodone, marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle.

Matthew Botwright, 31, Deondrick Griffin, 30, Kenneth McCray, 36, and Jasmin Mims, 22, were taken into custody.  Botwright has ties to the Marquette area; the other three are from Georgia.

All four suspects are charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, possession with intent to deliver ecstasy, possession with intent to deliver heroin, and possession with intent to deliver Schedule 1, 2, 3 controlled substances. 

The charges hold a total cash bond of $250,000 per suspect.

McCray is also charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, which holds an additional $50,000 bond.

All suspects remain lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
