Names of those involved in Escanaba accident released

ESCANABA, MI--   Escanaba Public Safety has released the names of three people involved in a fatal accident Sunday afternoon.

Investigation reveals that a vehicle driven by Rebecca Dabney was northbound on North 30th Street when she lost control.  Her vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a southbound vehicle driven by Brian Flath.

Flath and his passenger, Robert Dunstone, 81, were taken to St. Francis hospital.  Dunstone was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.  Flath was treated and released.

Officers say icy roads are believed to be a factor in the accident.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
