Nassar sent to Florida

EAST LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   Former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is now in Florida.

It is his second move since going to prison six months ago.

As of Tuesday night, the Federal Prison Inmate Locator listed Larry Nassar at the Coleman II US Penitentiary in Sumterville, Florida.

Nassar began serving his 60-year federal sentence on child pornography charges at a federal prison in Arizona.

His attorneys say he was assaulted within hours of being in the prison population in late May.

Nassar was moved to a transfer center in Oklahoma earlier this month before being routed to Florida where experts say he may be safe from attacks from other inmates.

Nassar is also trying to appeal his 40 to 125 year sentence in Ingham and Eaton counties for sexually assaulting dozens of children and women in his care at MSU and USA gymnastics.
