National Guard members assisting in UP medical supply dispersal

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Michigan National Guard is helping with the management and distribution of medical supplies in the U.P.

Six guard members are now serving at each regional logistics hub in Sault Ste. Marie, Marquette and Ontonagon. They will help to plan, distribute, and track medical supplies across Michigan.

More than 500 men and women of the Michigan National Guard live in the Upper Peninsula. Director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Major General Paul Rogers, says they are technical experts who have the skills to support the state in its battle against COVID-19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
