Negaunee Township crash injures one

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Ishpeming woman is hospitalized for injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident in Negaunee Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday around 4:40 p.m. on US-41 near Link Road. They say Lillian Andriacchi, 90, of Ishpeming was westbound on 41 when she turned south onto Link Road. She turned into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by 25-year-old Jordyn Lafreniere of Negaunee.

Andriacchi was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
