New commanders installed at UP State Police posts

MARQUETE, MI--   Two Upper Peninsula natives have been named commander of two Michigan State Police posts.

Jeremy Hauswirth was promoted to first lieutenant and commander of the Iron Mountain Post. He graduated from Rudyard High School, went to NMU, and served at the Negaunee and Gladstone posts and with UPSET.

Hauswirth is responsible for the operation of the Iron Mountain Post and the Iron River Detachment and will administer all State Police services in Dickinson and Iron counties.

And Rob Allen was promoted to first lieutenant and commander of the Sault Ste. Marie Post. He also graduated from Rudyard High School and went to Michigan State and LSSU. Allen served in the Air Force for six years. He worked at the Stephenson Post, the Soo Post and with UPSET.

Allen will also be responsible for operation of the Newberry Detachment and will administer all State Police services in Chippewa and Luce counties.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
