New head of MGH announced

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette General Hospital has a new Chief Executive Officer.  

Duke LifePoint has announced that Ed Banos took over the top spot effective January 1.  Banos has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the hospital since May.

Before coming to MGH Banos was System President and CEO for Good Shepherd Health System in Longview, Texas.  He also served as COO for Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and CEO at North Shore Medical Center in Miami.

Former Marquette General CEO Gary Muller stepped down at the end of December.  He’ll continue to function as President and CEO of Superior Health Partners until he retires next month. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
