NMU prepping for Rokerthon 3

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is preparing for a world record try and a visit by NBC’s Al Roker.

Tuesday morning Roker will broadcast live from the Superior Dome during the Today Show as NMU students try to break the Guinness World Record for the largest game of freeze tag.

The university is encouraging faculty, staff, and community members to don green and gold and fill the dome as spectators for the broadcast. Advance registration is requested at nmu.edu/mc/world-record.

Roker is visiting five universities across the country that are trying to set different world records as part of the week-long Rokerthon 3 series on Today. A crew is filming footage of NMU, the area, Roker’s arrival Monday, and his tour of campus locations for a piece to air during the show.
