It happened on US-41 near the intersection of County Road 492. A pickup truck driven by an 80-year-old Negaunee man was stopped at the light when it was rear-ended by a Monte Carlo driven by a 47-year-old Negaunee man.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts. A 55-year-old woman in the sedan was taken to UPHS-Marquette for evaluation of minor injuries.

The driver of the Monte Carlo was cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
