Norway Township ATV accident injures two men

NORWAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was seriously injured in an ATV rollover crash in Dickinson County Saturday.

Troopers from the iron Mountain Post responded around 6:55 p.m. to Carney Lake Road near the Carney Lake Campground in Norway Township. They say two men—26 and 29 years old—were northbound in an ATV and hit a curve. The driver lost control and the vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree, and rolled several times. Both men were ejected.

The driver was airlifted to UPHS-Marquette by Valley Med Flight. The passenger was taken to Dickinson County Hospital, treated, and later released.

Alcohol, speed and no use of seatbelts are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
