Officials battle house fires in Gladstone

GLADSTONE, MI--   Firefighters in the Gladstone/Escanaba area responded to two house fires this week.

The Gladstone Public Safety Department says Monday around 2:30 p.m. volunteer firefighters and personnel from the Escanaba Township Fire Department responded to 1311 Delta Avenue. Fire on the second floor of the house was extinguished.

No injuries were reported, but the home suffered smoke and water damage.

The cause remains under investigation.

Tuesday around 5:40 p.m. Gladstone Public Safety, the Volunteer Fire Department and the Escanaba Township Fire Department were called to a residence at 608 Blackwell Avenue. Officials say flames were found in the attic.

The fire was extinguished, but the house suffered smoke and fire damage.

The cause was determined to be electrical.

No injuries were reported.
