One injured in Crystal Falls traffic accident

CRYSTAL FALLS TOWNSHIP, MI--   Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a Crystal Falls Township crash Wednesday.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post responded just before 4 p.m. to US-2 near Fire Tower Road. They say a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Amasa woman was eastbound when she crossed the center line and nearly hit a westbound vehicle head-on. Her vehicle rolled over multiple times and ejected the driver.

She was taken to Aspirus Iron River Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
