Ontonagon driver blacks out, crashes vehicle

ONTONAGON, MI--   Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ontonagon County.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched Monday around 4:22 p.m. to M-26 near M-28.  They say Stanley Domitrovich of Ontonagon was southbound when he said he blacked out.  The vehicle crossed the centerline, went into the ditch, and hit a driveway, which caused the vehicle to go airborne.  It hit several trees before coming to rest in the ditch.

Domitrovich and his wife Nancy were taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital with minor injuries.

Michigan State Police and the Greenland and Ontonagon Fire Departments assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
