Otchingwanigan pleads to 1st-degree CSC

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   An 81-year-old Crystal Falls man has pleaded guilty to charges he had sexual contact with a boy under the age of 13. 

Earl Otchingwanigan was accused of committing the crimes with a male living in the same house between 2000 and 2007. The victim said he was between the ages of 7 and 14 at the time.

Otchingwanigan has pleaded to 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct in Iron County Circuit Court. His bond has been revoked and he remains lodged in the Iron County Jail.

Sentencing is set for November 26.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
