Palmer man in critical condition after weekend shooting

PALMER, MI--   One man is hospitalized and another is in jail, following a shooting incident in Marquette County.  

Troopers from the Negaunee Post were called Saturday around 12:35 p.m. to a house in Palmer to investigate a disturbance between two family members.  Investigation revealed a firearm was discharged during an argument. 

The victim was taken to Marquette General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.  The other man was taken to the Negaunee Post, where he was later arrested on weapons-related offenses. 

The Michigan State Police Crime Lab collected and processed evidence at the scene.

No further information about the incident will be released until charges are reviewed by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
