Peters touring U.P., West Michigan on motorcycle

MARQUETTE, MI--   U.S. Senator Gary Peters is taking a five-day, seven-county motorcycle tour across the U.P. and Western Michigan next week.

It’s the second such #RideMI trip for the avid motorcyclist, who says he will meet with constituents to discuss his efforts to help grow Michigan’s small businesses, bolster the manufacturing sector, and expand critical infrastructure.

The tour begins Monday in Marquette County. He’ll make additional stops throughout the week in Baraga, Ontonagon, Gogebic, Iron, and Dickinson counties.

As part of the tour, Peters, a former Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve,’ will present 50th anniversary commemorative lapel pins to Vietnam veterans in the Upper Peninsula in honor of their service in the Vietnam War.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
