PHF offers funding, answers questions for flood victims

HOUGHTON, MI--   The Portage Health Foundation is holding a meeting to help residents apply for financial assistance for flood cleanup.

The foundation created a flood relief fund and is encouraging those affected by the Father’s Day flood to apply. Officials say applications will be available through July 27 at 3:30 p.m. No late applications will be accepted. Funding is not income-based and is not a loan that needs to be repaid.

Applications can be found at phfgive.org or at the following locations:

  • Community Action, Houghton
  • City of Houghton Office
  • City of Hancock Office
  • Hubbell Fire Department
  • Lake Linden Village Office
  • Dial Help
  • Volunteer Center, Old JCPenney Store
  • Campioni TruValue Hardware, Calumet
  • Stanton Township Office
  • Superior National Bank, Chassell Location
  • Franklin Township Office
  • Ripley Fire Department
  • PHF Office

The PHF is holding a public meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Lake Linden School auditorium. Officials say it will let community members learn more about the funding process, ask questions, and voice concerns.
