Portion of US-41 between Negaunee and Ishpeming to be redone next week

ISHPEMING, MI--   A road construction project between Ishpeming and Negaunee starts Tuesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says the $1.6 million project includes the resurfacing of 4.2 miles of US-41 from Westwood Drive east to Water Street. Work will also include asphalt milling and resurfacing; joint repairs; curb, gutter, and guardrail replacement; shoulder rumble strips; and pavement markings.

The project will require lane closures with traffic shifts. A minimum of one lane will be open in each direction for the duration.

Work is expected to be completed in late August.
