ALGER COUNTY, MI-- The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has arrested seven Alger County residents on charges related to the distribution of prescription pills.
UPSET and Homeland Security officials began an investigation in 2017 after bulk amounts of pills being shipped through the U.S. Postal Service were seized. Detectives identified several suspects who received a large amount of illegal prescription pills from other countries.
On Monday law enforcement arrested seven people from Alger County on charges related to delivery of prescription pills and using a computer to commit a crime.
All are lodged in the Alger County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
