Revolve Creative Conference November 9th: Interview with Keith Ellis, Executive Director

According to Merriam Webster, a "Creative" as a noun is defined as "one who is creative."  Creatives from across the Midwest are invited to the first annual Revolve Creative Conference, or Revolve CC, for support in collaboration, cross-discipline works, and creative business.  A group of Marquette residents have also collaborated and pooled resources to put on this one-day conference, and have invited speakers of various creative disciplines to speak on their topics.

Confirmed speakers are Steve Albini, engineer and producer (The Pixies, Nirvana, Low, The Breeder), Dr. Susan Weinschenk (Ph.D. in Psychology and Chief Behavioral Scientist and CEO at The Team W. Inc.), and Austin Choi-Fitzpatrick, an author, educator and speaker whose work focuses on politics, culture, technology, and social change.

Keith Ellis, Professor of Art and Design at Northern Michigan University, is also the Executive Director of Revolve CC.  He came to Public Radio 90 to tell us more about his role in the conference and the aim of gathering creatives in Marquette:

The conference is made up of four components: Back to Basics, Cross-Talks and Process (happening concurrently), and Keynote Speakers.  Leading up to the conference is a poster show, with submissions accepted.

Information and registration can be found at revolvecc.net, on Facebook, and Instagram.
