Science & Engineering Festival to be held in the Keweenaw

HOUGHTON, MI--   A festival in the Copper Country this week aims to spark local interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. 

The Second Annual Keweenaw Science and Engineering Festival is a partnership of local companies, universities and individuals committed to showcasing all facets of STEM in the Western U.P.  Activities include an art exhibit entitled “Layers of Superior” at the Michigan Tech Great Lakes Research Center, the Michigan Tech Mind Trekkers, Teen Science Night, Family Engineering Day, the Science Pub Crawl, and the MSU Science Theatre group.   

The festival runs Wednesday through Saturday.  All activities are free of charge.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
