UP sees more than 40 new coronavirus cases

MARQUETTE, MI--   Forty-one new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Upper Peninsula.

As of Tuesday afternoon the additions were as follows:

  • Baraga County-2
  • Delta-10
  • Dickinson-3
  • Gogebic-1
  • Houghton-5
  • Iron-13
  • Keweenaw-1
  • Marquette-3
  • Menominee-3.

That brings the total number of cases reported in the U.P. to 1,659. Twenty-three people have died.
The state of Michigan has recorded 117,910 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. A total of 6,680 have died from COVID-19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
