Senator Levin makes stops in Central Upper Peninsula

ESCANABA, MI--   U.S. Senator Carl Levin continues his tour of the U.P. Friday with stops in Escanaba and Ishpeming.

At 11 a.m. the Senator will meet with the U.P. Commission for Area Progress—or UPCAP—and present a legislative update.

From there Levin heads to Bay Middle College to answer questions about current events.  The discussion will not be open to the public.

And at 2:15 p.m. the Senator will tour the ongoing construction of the Partridge Creek Diversion Project in Ishpeming.  The city received $6 million to restore channel streams and reconstruct its storm sewer system.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
