Several entities involved in Negaunee Township crash

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Michigan State Police are investigating a Negaunee Township crash involving three vehicles, one pedestrian, and two dogs.

It happened Sunday at 6:45 p.m. on US-41 near Brebner Road. Prior to the crash the dogs were running loose on the highway. Troopers say there was a car stopped on the shoulder of the road with two people standing by it. One dog crossed the highway and was hit by a pickup truck towing a trailer. Another vehicle braked to avoid the other dog, swerved from its lane, and hit the third vehicle, which was parked. That vehicle overturned and struck one of the pedestrians and the parked car.

Two people were taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for two hours as officials investigated the scene.

Further details about the crash will be released when the investigation is completed.
