Sickness prompts visitor restrictions at MGH

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette General Hospital is restricting visitors in an effort to stop the flu from spreading to patients and staff.

Officials say only essential family will be allowed in patient rooms; children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the hospital, unless for an appointment or emergency room visit; and only parents will be allowed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Anyone who has symptoms of the flu is asked to stay away from the hospital altogether.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
