Small plane crashes at Sawyer

SAWYER, MI (AP)--   Authorities are blaming high winds for the crash of a single-engine plane as it tried to take off from Sawyer International Airport Monday.

The pilot escaped injury.

Officials say the Cessna flipped around 3:30 p.m.  The plane sustained significant damage and the crash temporarily halted air traffic.

An investigation is continuing.
