Snyder attorney angry at state for not sharing evidence in criminal case

FLINT, MI (MPRN)--   The attorney for former Governor Rick Snyder is upset with how slowly the state is sharing evidence in his criminal case.

Snyder is charged with two counts of willful neglect of duty in connection to his handling of the Flint water crisis.

But the discovery process has been slowed as evidence presented to a grand jury is reviewed before being shared with defense attorneys. At a pre-trial hearing Tuesday Snyder attorney Brian Lennon described the process as "outrageous."

“I should at least be able to have a witness list by now so I know what to look for. And I don’t have it,” he said.

In another Flint water case, a federal bankruptcy court judge is holding a hearing Wednesday on a motion by Snyder’s attorneys to hold the Michigan Attorney General’s office in contempt.

Snyder's attorneys say confidential documents have been released as part of proceedings in the civil Flint water case.
