Soo trooper injured when vehicle hits patrol car

SOO TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Michigan State Police trooper from the Sault Sainte Marie Post was involved in an on-duty crash with another vehicle Wednesday afternoon. 

The crash happened around 1:50 p.m. near 3 Mile Road and M-129 in Soo Township. The trooper was responding to a hold-up alarm at a local government building when the patrol vehicle was hit by another vehicle attempting to turn into a private driveway.

The trooper was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at War Memorial Hospital. The occupants of the other vehicle refused medical treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
