Speed, alcohol likely factors in ATV crash

DICKINSON COUNTY, MI--   Two people were taken to the hospital following an ATV crash in Dickinson County Sunday.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened on East Fordville Road. An ATV occupied by two men approached a corner at a high rate of speed. The driver was unable to negotiate the corner and the ATV rolled over several times. The passenger was ejected.

The driver and passenger were taken to Dickinson County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
