State Police investigate stabbing in Delta County

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Escanaba man is accused of committing felonious assault in Ford River Township over the weekend.  

State Police from the Gladstone Post say the incident happened Saturday around 8:45 p.m.  Troopers responded after receiving a 911 call that a stabbing had occurred inside a residence. 

The victim—a 44-year-old Escanaba man—was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment.  The 73-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and lodged at the Delta County Jail.

Names have not yet been released, pending arraignment. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
