U.P. suspect faces WI charge for hitting man outside Aurora bar

FLORENCE, WI--   A Kingsford man is in Wisconsin court on a charge of aggravated battery with intent to do great bodily harm. 

Joseph Supa, 34, is accused of punching a man outside an Aurora bar on November 7.  The victim was put into a medically induced coma and is recovering at a hospital in Green Bay. 

Supa was bound over to Florence County Circuit Court Tuesday.  He remains free on a $5,000 bond.

A pretrial hearing is set for February 2.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
