Suspect pleads in Marquette breaking-and-entering

MARQUETTE, MI--   A suspect in a Marquette home invasion case has entered into a plea deal.

Kyle Arrieta, 25, was one of two men accused of breaking into a house on the 600 block of Wincrest Drive in July and threatening the owner with a gun.

On Thursday Arrieta pleaded guilty to armed robbery.  In exchange, first-degree home invasion and felony firearms charges were dropped.

Sentencing is set for March 6.

Trial begins Monday for Arrieta’s codefendant, 25-year-old Johnathan Roy, if he doesn’t plead to a lesser charge before then.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
