Teen suspected in Manistique shooting

MANISTIQUE, MI--   A 17-year-old male suspect is jailed, following a shooting in Manistique.  

Friday afternoon Manistique Public Safety responded to a report that three men had been shot at by the suspect in Central Park near the ball field.  The victims were taken to the Public Safety Department for protection while officers looked for the shooter. 

Investigation determined a handgun was used in the incident.  Officers arrested the suspect in Manistique Township Saturday afternoon.  He’s lodged without bond in the Schoolcraft County Jail on three counts of felonious assault and one count of carrying a concealed weapon 

The Schoolcraft County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case for amended or additional charges.  The suspect is expected to be arraigned Monday. 

No injuries are reported.
