Three-car crash in Chocolay Township

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Only minor injuries are reported in a three-vehicle accident in Chocolay Township Tuesday.

Township Police say the crash happened just before 7 p.m. on US-41 in front of the Holiday gas station.  A southbound vehicle driven by Joseph Menze of Marquette was making a left turn into the station when he pulled into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by Alyssa Denofre of Negaunee.  Menze hit Denofre’s vehicle, then slid into a third vehicle waiting to leave the gas station.

Menze sustained minor injuries and sought his own treatment at Marquette General Hospital.  No other injuries are reported.

Menze was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
