Tilden Township man dies in motorcycle accident

ELY TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Ely Township. 

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday around 11:55 p.m. on County Road 581 at County Road CD. Deputies say a motorcycle driven by a 56-year-old Tilden Township man was northbound on 581 when the bike left the roadway. It hit a utility pole and ejected the driver.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

County Road 581 was partially blocked for about four hours while the scene was investigated.

Alcohol is considered a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the crash is asked to call the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
