Troopers arrest woman on meth violation

MCMILLAN TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Newberry woman was arrested last week for possessing methamphetamine.

Friday around 12:30 a.m. Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on M-123 near County Road 428 in McMillan Township. The driver—Heather Kimbler, 32, of Newberry—was found to be in possession of meth. She was arrested and lodged in the Luce County Jail.

Kimbler was arraigned Friday and released on a personal recognizance bond with conditions. She’s due back in court december-17th.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
